A petition was on Wednesday filed in the Supreme Court for initiation of contempt of court proceedings against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit and Transport Minister Parvez Hashmi for their alleged contemptuous remarks against the apex court.
The petitioner, B L Wadhera, mentioned this before a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice A S Anand who told the petitioner that the bench has already taken note of the remarks and sought an affidavit from the chief secretary of the Delhi government. Wadhera said that the remarks made by Dixit and Hashmi amounted to declaring a war against the Supreme Court, the highest court of the land.
Justice Anand observed anybody, who is a responsible citizen, will be concerned by the attitude of the Delhi government. However, when Wadhera pressed for hearing of his petition, the bench asked him to file it in the registry and give a copy of the petition to the Amicus Curiae Harish Salve.

The petitioner has sought initiation of contempt proceedings against chief minister, transport minister, Transport Secretary Ashok Pradhan and others for their wilful disobedience of court orders And Open, wilful and daring defiance of court orders on the issuance of permits.
