New Delhi, Sept 09: Railway ministry has issued orders making refund on cancellation of tickets purchased against the three series of rail travel coupons issued to accredited media persons at the Centre, state and district level, admissible in cash at the station across the counter in keeping with the existing refund rules.
The Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) for refund of such tickets would be issued only in those cases where refund at the station is not admissible under refund rules, an official release today said.
Like other concessional tickets, it said that the usual cancellation charges would be leviable on the amount paid for individual journeys on such tickets. The zonal railways have been instructed to monitor closely the refund so granted to avoid misuse, it said adding that these orders would take effect from October 1, 2003, on tickets cancelled on and after that date.
Meanwhile, the computerised passenger reservation system (PRS) software would be modified accordingly, it said.
