Jakarta, Aug 27: Two more men have been
arrested for suspected involvement in the August 5 deadly
hotel blast in the Indonesian capital, a news report quoting
the Jakarta police chief said today.
Inspector General Makbul Padmanegara, quoted by the
Detikcom online news service, said two suspects have been
transferred from Padang in west Sumatra to the capital where
they are being investigated.
"We have taken them ... They are now being questioned
by the police," he was quoted as saying without giving their
identities or other details.
The police chief said investigations are continuing
into the car bombing at the Marriott Hotel which killed 12
people. "Those whom we have not yet arrested, we will hunt
them."
Police spokesmen could not be reached for comment on
the report.
Police have said the Jemaah Islamiyah regional terror network carried out the Marriott attack. The al-Qaeda-linked network is also blamed for the Bali attack which killed 202 people last October and a string of other bombings.
Police said earlier that 10 people are under arrest for involvement in planning the Marriott blast, including six who were detained before August 5 for other offences and have since confessed their part in the plot.
They have released sketches or photos of five wanted suspects, including two Malaysians called Noordin Muhammad top and Azahari. Both are also key suspects in the Bali blasts.
