Falluja, Iraq, Feb 14: An unknown number of prisoners held in a police station in the Iraqi town of Falluja escaped after gunmen attacked the building with rockets, mortars and machineguns today, police officers at the scene said. At least 21 people -- including 14 police officers and three gunmen -- were killed and 35 were wounded in the attack.
Falluja, 50 km (32 miles) west of Baghdad, is a hotspot of attacks on US forces and on Iraqis seen as collaborating with them.
