Mumbai: The four-day long Chhath Puja celebrations have begun today. On this day, women, predominantly from Bihar and Jharkhand observe fast, offer their prayers to the Sun God and conclude the puja by worshipping Goddess Usha.

Festivities begin with Nahay Khay on Chaturthi tithi (November 4).

On the following day - Panchami - Lohanda and Kharna is observed. (November 5)
