Mumbai, July 08: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Maharashtra Police, which today completed its searches at the Mahim residence of sitting UPSC member S D Karnik to ascertain his alleged role in the State Public Service Commision (MPSC) scam, found "nothing much", a senior ACB official said here.

The search at Karnik's second house at Mahim in central Mumbai, which began last evening, concluded early this morning, the official told a news agency here. On Saturday, Karnik's fourth floor flat in 'Dilwara' building, near cooperage ground, was intensively searched.
"Nothing much was found in both the raids," the official said but added that further investigations were on.
"Karnik will, however, be stationed in Mumbai for a few more days and interrogations could continue," the official said.

The search at Karnik's 'Dilwara' residence began on Saturday afternoon after the former MPSC chairman arrived along with his wife from Delhi. ACB had last week summoned Karnik to question him for his alleged role in the scam.
Six persons, including a DCP, Pawan Shivram Kadam, and a woman conduit, Manisha Pravin Nichet, have been arrested so far in connection with the scam involving examinations for the post of sub-inspectors, sales tax inspectors and assistants for state sectretariat, mantralaya.
It is alleged that as many as 398 answersheets had been replaced to help some candidates through fraudulent means.
