Jammu, July 29: Border Security Force troops have completed fencing along 75 km of international border with Pakistan in J-K, resulting in "remarkable decrease" in infiltration along the Jammu frontier, BSF officials said today. "We have completed border fencing ad floodlight work on 75 kms of IB with Pakistan in Jammu and Kathua sectors in J-K till now," the officials told pti here.

Of the total 182 km border, 75 kms have been fenced with multiple barbed wire and also flood lighted, the officials said, adding "work is on pace to complete 80 kms by the end of August". The areas which have been fenced, include R S Pura, Ramba, Hiranagar, Ramgarh and Akhnoor areas of IB in Jammu-Kathua belt, the sources said and added 107 kms fencing work in these areas was yet to be completed.

After the fencing and flood lighting along IB is completed, infiltration of militants and trans-border smugglers besides smuggling of weapons and narcotics would come to a total stop, they said.

"As result of 75 kms of fencing, there has been remarkable decease in the infiltration of militants along IB in Jammu frontier," they said.
