Pune, Dec 03: The special court today extended the magisterial custody of senior TDP MLA and former Andhra Pradesh minister C Krishna Yadav, arrested in connection with the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, till December 29.
Yadav was produced before the special court for Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) on expiry of his 90 days' magisterial custody. The court also extended the magisterial custody of two other accused in the case.
The chief public prosecutor Raja Thakre told the court that the prosecution intended to file one comprehensive chargesheet against all the accused who have so far been arrested in this case instead of filing piecemeal chargesheets and sought extension of time for filing the same.
The prosecutor said 14 CDs containing conversations between the prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi and various other persons have been handed over by the government of Karnataka to the Special Investigating Team (SIT).
But so far only three CDs could be heard which covers about 720 conversations out of which 129 were relevant for the purpose of investigations in this case. In this, the role of Yadav is being heard progressively and hence his detention was essential along with the other accused, Thakre said.
Yadav was arrested by SIT from Hyderabad on September 06, brought to Pune and remanded to police custody from time to time. Bureau Report
