Security measures have been beefed up in view of tomorrow's dawn-to-dusk Bihar bandh called by the NDA to press for the resignation of the Rabri Devi ministry to draw Centre's attention towards alleged lawlessness in the state. Official sources said all police stations were put on a maximum alert and patrolling would be intensified on national and state highways to ensure trouble-free movement of vehicular traffic.
Extra security attention would be paid to protect vital installations particularly property of railways, they said.
Static deployment of security personnel would be made in the areas identified as trouble-prone, the sources said.
Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly, S K Modi, said the NDA activists would resort to complete 'chakka jam' and 'rail roko' to enforce the bandh call to draw the Centre's attention towards alleged lawlessness and chaos gripping the state.
Alleging that the state government had miserably failed in checking the growing incidents of kidnapping, mass-killing, atrocities on dalits and women, Modi said Rabri Devi has lost moral right to continue in office. Bureau Report
