US President George W Bush is "working hard" with India and Pakistan to settle disputes that could worsen a volatile situation, White House Press Secretary Arie Fleischer has said. Replying to a question on the weekend killings in Jammu and Kashmir, the silence of Arabs on the killings of Hindus in India, Fleischer said, the President does believe that "nations have the right to self-defence". And consistent with that message, as the President has said, is the pursuit of peace.
"And that is why the President has been working as hard as he has, working with India and Pakistan, on settlement of any of the disputes that could lead to a more volatile situation in the region," he said. The President is consistent in that approach: "Terrorism is terrorism is terrorism, and that applies worldwide," Fleischer said on Monday at his press briefing. Bureau Report
