New Delhi, Sept 23: As the assembly elections draw near, the Congress government in Delhi has decided to ensure cleanliness in the city by launching a special drive from today which would be monitored by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
The drive, which will go on till October 2, will cover the entire capital which has been divided into 12 zones, Dikshit told reporters here yesterday.
The Chief Minister said she would personally visit each zone every morning to take stock of the progress of work.
Dikshit, however, sought to delink the drive with the forthcoming polls while saying no politics was involved in the move.

Work to keep Delhi clean has been going on and this step only adds to that effort, she said.
