Peshawar, Mar 19: Admitting mismanagement over the sale of tickets in the previous two one-dayers that created a pubilc furore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan said capacity of the stadiums in Karachi and Lahore would be increased while the board would build its own stadium in Islamabad. ''There have been problems over the sale of tickets. We have had incidents of rowdiness because apparently the demand for tickets is high but we can only provide as much as the capacity of a stadium allows,'' Khan said. ''But people have to understand that we have stadiums with limited seating capacity. We have had to sell and give out tickets to our sponsors who have put money in this series,'' he said.

However, PCB has decided to reduce the number of tickets allowed to sponsors and these would now be sold to the general public to meet the growing demand, he said.

After smoothly conducting the one-dayers at Karachi and Lahore, the board was, however, facing problems in other cities where they do not have their own stadium, Khan admitted.

''In other cities we do face administrative and organisational control problems. We do face problems over the sale and availability of tickets. Which is why we have decided that we will increase the capacity of our stadiums in Karachi and Lahore and build our own stadium in Islamabad for which we have already seen the land.'' Bureau Report
