Seoul, Feb 18: Three passengers died and 110 were injured today in suspected arson attack on a South Korean subway train in the southeastern city of Daegu, rescuers said.
Seoul, Feb 18: Three passengers died and 110 were injured today in suspected arson attack on a South Korean subway train in the southeastern city of Daegu, rescuers said.
"Three people died and 110 others were injured," said Chung Young-Chun of the city fire department. "The situation looks like it is getting under control."
Witnesses said a man boarded a compartment of the subway
train in the centre of the city and set alight a canister
containing flammable liquid around 10:00 am (0630 IST).
"It burst into flames and quickly spread after he dropped
the canister," a police spokesman said. "Judging from what
eye-witnesses say, it looks like an arson attack."
