New Delhi, Feb 13: Ruling out any interference in India-Pakistan issues, France today asserted that New Delhi and Islamabad should solve their bilateral problems according to the Shimla agreement saying India's peace initiative should show to the world how bilateral issues can be settled. ''India and Pakistan have shown the way in which we can settle problems. The gesture of the Prime Minister (Atal Bihari Vajpayee) opening a dialogue with Pakistan are the best to deal with such situations,'' French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin said here.
Addressing a press conference jointly with External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha after nearly 45-minute talks on various bilateral, regional and global issues, Villepin said that the peace initiative are the ''best example'' of how to solve bilateral issues.
''Shimla is the spirit in which we should work...'' he said in reply to a question on whether France could play a role in resolving India-Pakistan matters.
Reflecting the same sentiments, Sinha said, ''The minister has said what I wanted to say.''
