Hyderbad, Nov 14: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said his government will make a representation to the Election Commission to hold elections in the state before March next year, in view of the examination season. "Students will be put to inconvenience if elections are held in March. We will be happy if they are held before March", Naidu told reporters here.

When asked about Chief Election Commissioner J M Lyngdoh's reported statement in delhi that elections were not possible in February, Naidu said, "Dissolving the assembly is in our hands, but not holding of elections. It is the job of the Election Commission."

Observing that the commission will hold elections at appropriate time Naidu said, "Since we are a caretaker government now, it is not proper for us to continue in office for longer time." Lyngdoh had said that Andhra Pradesh was not prepared for holding elections at the moment and made it clear that the Election Commission "takes its own time and whenever it is ready" in carrying out such exercises.
