As the weather changes to scorching heat, Delhi braves itself to new cool and comfortable lines of ensemble that were presented by India`s leading fashion designers like Wendell Rodericks , Raghuvendra Rathore, Tarun Tahiliani to name a few in the India Fashion Week 2000, held in New Delhi. So ladies are you ready for really scorching hot clothes to cool this summer. But who is doing what this summer? Lets take a brief look at the designers. Wendell Rodricks

Tarun Tahilaini provides a great impact through the drape achieved and the use of techniques like pleating. The fluidity achieved in the garments is going to be the in thing for this summer. Textures on fabrics are going to be the highlight this season. Reds and teals represent the colour palette.

For designer Ritu Kumar, who is well known for the ever famous scarves that made statement, it’s black and red this summer with paisley motifs, teamed with three button polyester-blend trouser suits -- the pants were tapered, ankle length -- in red, blue or black, and tiny black fez Gandhi caps. The summer 2001 collection would be the comeback of salwars, with backless (yes you read right) the backless and the sleeveless kurtas both below the knee and short and thigh-high.
The colours being the pastels like beiges and whites with black Mughal tree and flower motifs, and the styles being in three-button sleeveless flyaway tunics slit all the way upfront to the waist. The ever famous designer Suneet Varma exciting and vibrant colours, layered chiffons and lycra, trimmed with sparkling crystal is what the well dressed women should wear this summer
With sensuous silhouettes and clothes cut close to the body is definitely going to be seen this summer along with amazing sequins and beadwork. But what will the complete wardrobe consist of, chiffon and georgette collection in vibrant turquoise, orange, yellow and blue trimmed with feathers and rock crystal beading. Lycra pants and churidars along the ever famous beige and black two-piece saris, camisoles and long, straight-cut dresses. So ladies what are you waiting for. Hit the latest stores to get the coolest look for the scorching and the much dreaded heat, and remember "Fashion is what you are comfortable in and what looks good on".
