New Delhi, Aug 24: Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi arrived here this evening on a brief visit for talks with Indian leaders on a host of issues, including the Iraq situation.
Kharrazi was received at the Delhi airport by Arun Singh, joint secretary in the external affairs ministry, Iranian ambassador to India, Slavash Zargar Yagoubi and heads of Iranian institutions here.
The Foreign Minister, who is heading a high-level economic delegation, will call on Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and hold wide-ranging discussions with external Affairs minister yashwant sinha on bilateral and regional issues.
The two sides have a very close ongoing dialogue with regular exchange of visits.
Besides the developments in Iraq, the situation in Afghanistan as also the Middle East peace process are expected to figure in the parleys.
