Hyderabad, Sept 19: Nine Left parties, including CPI and CPM, today demanded a judicial probe into the multi-crore stamp paper scam, "which has a wider nexus between mafia, politicians and bureaucrats." In a memorandum submitted to Andhra Pradesh Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, the Left parties urged him to direct the state government to table all facts available on the scam in the ensuing monsoon session of the assembly and order a judicial enquiry by a sitting Supreme Court judge.

"Deliberate failure of state to file a chargesheet into the four-year old case, arrest of TDP MLA C Krishna Yadav and suspected involvement of several political leaders and officers, exposed the complicity of the state government," CPM state secretary B V Raghavulu and others said in the memorandum.

Alleging that the scam has a wider dimension of collusion between mafia gangs, politicians and officers, they alleged that the matter should be taken up on priority to bring out the facts.
