Lucknow, May 01: The Election Commission has identified 16 parliamentary seats in uttar pradesh as sensitive and ordered special security measures and videography in these constituencies to check booth capturing and rigging during polling. The EC has posted two inspector generals of police and an equal numbers of digs in certain sensitive pockets to ensure free and fair polls.
Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's lucknow constituency is among the 16 sensitive Lok Sabha seats where polling in all hyper-sensitive and sensitive booths will be recorded on video and the report will be sent to the EC directly.
Yesterday, the EC had announced 14 sensitive constituencies -- Lucknow, Allahabad, Banda, Etah, Kannauj, Mainpuri, Sambhal, Meerut, Hathras, Baghpat, Ferozabad, Sitapur, Bulandshahr and Badaun.
According to state election office sources here two parliamentary constituency Hardoi and Etawah were included in the list today.
Earlier, two senior IGs were posted to supervise the law and order situation in seven important constituencies in the state.
While Padaman Singh will look after Banda, Hamirpur and Chitrakoot constituencies bordering up and Madhya Pradesh, Sulkhan Singh will oversee Etah, Mainpuri, Kunnauj and Ferozabad.
The, EC posted DIG Naseem Kamal in Etah today, while DIG Bhavesh Kumar would look after Farukkhabad.
Meanwhile, the EC has posted Lal Saheb as the new Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Mainpuri and inspector Ramadhar as the new station incharge of Mainpuri Sadar Police Station. Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav is contesting the LS polls from Mainpuri.
Sukhveer Giri will be the new assistant superintendent of police (ASP) and Ramesh Dixit has been made DSP of Baghpat. Devendra Kumar Rai has also been posted ASP Firozabad. Two shos in Firozabad constituency in Agra district were also transferred by the EC.
