Lahore, Feb 28: Dispelling fears that any incident during the coming India-Pakistan cricket series could see the visitors call off their tour, the Pakistan Cricket Board said the BCCI has agreed to tackle any such problem in a ''sensible manner and with a clear mind''. ''Any incident of stone or bottle throwing during matches would be reviewed by the boards and no hasty decision would be taken on aborting the tour,'' PCB chairman Shahryar Khan told reporters.
''We have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian board, and they agreed to do away with the clause that said that their players had the right to consider returning home if any stone, bottle or objects were thrown at them in any match,'' he added.
Khan, a former Foreign Secretary, said it would be ''a tragedy and very damaging for Pakistan if any such stray incident led to the series being aborted”.
The PCB was installing CTV in all enclosures at all stadiums to identify and eliminate chances of someone causing problems from within the crowd, Khan said.
''With these measures we hope to root out any chances of miscreants trying to spoil the match and bring a bad name to Pakistan,'' he added.
The Indian team will tour Pakistan from March 10 to April 18 to play five one-day internationals and three Tests. This is India's first full tour to Pakistan since 1989. Bureau Report
