New Delhi, July 18: Dabur India has drawn up a detailed brand buleprint for 2003-04 which includes extending `Vatika' to skin care and soaps and Dabur Lal Manjan to toothpaste besides launching and a new shampoo and hair oils. The company, which plans to get aggressive in the FMCG sector, has put Binaca toothpaste launch on the backburner, shelved plans to enter packaged water business and plans to launch several OTC healthcare brands as means for achieving growth over the next few years.

Thus, the Vatika brand will be extended to soaps and skin care while Dabur will remain the "mother" brand for the company, according to the annual report for 2002-03.

"Given the salience and the recall value of the Dabur brand name, it will be spread across the FMCG space, with particular emphasis on healthcare products," it said.

In the healthcare segment, new products to be launched include those in women's health besides cough and cold and medicated creams under brand name `Dabur'.
"We have not taken any decision on launching the Binaca toothpaste brand. However, Dabur Lal Dant Paste has been launched.....we also plan to enter several OTC healthcare categories soon," chief executive officer Sunil Duggal said. Bureau Report
