New Delhi, Dec 02: "I am hundred per cent an Indian
first and my religion is Islam," said Bollywood superstar Shah
Rukh Khan today asserting he would give his life for the
country.
In an interview to a television programme, Khan said he did not think there was a category like an Indian Hindu or an Indian Muslim. "I believe there is a category like an Indian and English or American. I think a country does come first.
"I think that's what we all believe except a few western interests who like to exploit this silly logic of being a Muslim first or an Indian first."
Asserting that he had great faith in Islam and the people who propagated it, he said he had very less faith in people who thought Islam was only aggressive and violent. "But as I said ... I would give my life for my country".
Asked how he felt being at the top of the tinsel world, khan said "I feel chosen, I feel blessed and I feel very guilty that I'm not doing enough good work to thank the people who in so many numbers have liked me and made me achieve what I have."
"I think that one lifetime will be too short to say thanks to everyone," Khan said.
