Vienna, July 01: The head of the UN's nuclear watchdog, Mohamed Elbaradei, today accepted an invitation to visit Iran to discuss Tehran's compliance with international nuclear regulations. "Elbaradei has received an invitation to visit Iran to discuss the implementation of nuclear safeguards (and) intends to respond positively", Mark Gwozdecky, spokesman for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) told reporters. No dates had been set for the trip, he said. Iran's national security council chief, Hassan Rowhani, said today he wanted to clear up "technical problems" noted in an IAEA report, which found Iran to have violated the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
