Intolerance row: Salim Khan defends Modi, supports `award wapsi`
Salim Khan defends Narendra Modi, however, says `award wapsi` is right thing to do
New Delhi: Amid all the controversies surrounding religious intolerance, veteran writer Salim Khan voiced his opinion and shielded Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to a report by India.com, Khan supported the 'Award Wapsi' of artists, saying they have a right to protest against what they feel is wrong, however, Modi shouldn't not be attacked for the same.
In fact, he also added that India is a better place to live for Muslims compared to countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran or Iraq.
He also took a stand on the on-going protests surrounding Gajendra Chauhan, saying, if the person is not wanted by the students of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) he should step down.
