Geneva, Feb 14: US authorities have granted the red cross permission to visit imprisoned former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross said in remarks published today. A ''green light'' has been given but no date has been set, ICRC president Jakob Kellenberger told the Swiss dailies Tribune de Geneve and 24 Heures. Hussein has been held at an undisclosed location since u s soldiers captured him in December. US officials have said Hussein would be treated as a prisoner of war, without defining him as a PoW. The Geneva Convention governing treatment of prisoners of war mandates entitles them to visits by the Red Cross. Bureau Report
