New Delhi, June 08: A sudden uprising has been witnessed in northern areas, under the illegal occupation of Pakistan, with Shia community opposing the change in curricula which was against the preaching of the minority community. Reports in various vernacular dailies of Pakistan said that hundreds of students protested in Gilgit area against the changed curricula and the minority Shia community has alleged that it is against "their school of thoughts."
The Pakistani Army, which has a heavy presence in the northern areas, has, meanwhile, banned pillion riding in the area because of the fear of surprise attacks from people of the area who have been opposing their oppression. The authorities, who have been functioning on behalf of Islamabad regime, have also banned any gathering of more than five people and also carrying of lethal weapons, the reports said.
The people in these areas have been facing a virtual colonial regime after it was illegally annexed by Pakistan as an integral part of that country, much against the wishes of puppet regime of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir. Recently, a Pakistani weekly had reported that for the people of these areas, it was a case of shifting from the colonial regime of the British to that of Pakistan.
Another senior leader and convenor of International Kashmir Alliance (IKA) Shabir Choudhry has been in the forefront of criticising Pakistani regime for its excesses in the northern areas. Bureau Report
