Chennai, Aug 09: Indian passenger car major Tata Motors successful b segment car 'indica' is to hit the British roads very shortly under an export agreement with MG Rovers, UK. "The shipment of Indica to the UK from the Nava Seva Port is expected commence very shortly", Rajiv Dube, vice-president, commercial, passenger car business unit, Tata Motors, told reporters here today, adding at least 1,000 cars are expected to be marketed in UK in the first phase.
He said the Indica would be sold in UK under the brand name 'City Rover' and added that UK was estimated to be an export market with huge potential in the entire Europe.
The company is already exporting its vehicles, mainly passenger cars, to Spain, Italy and Portugal in Europe and to the Saarc countries of Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
