Coimbatore, Aug 13: Defending champion Mukesh Kumar and Indian Open 2001 winner Vijay Kumar, would be among the cream of golfers seen in action in the second leg of the 2003-2004 season's Hero Honda golf tour, beginning here from today.
The four-day "Cotton City Open 2003," would also be the first leg of the southern swing and the main tournament would precede the DHL Pro-Am on Aug 17, according to a release from Coimbatore Golf Club (CGC).
Besides Mukesh and Vijay Kumar, Cotton City Open 2001 winner Shiv Prakash, well known golfers Digvijay Singh, Feroze Ali, Shiv Shankar Prasad Chowrasia and the winner of 'Rookie of the Year Award' Ashok Kumar and twice Honda-Siel PGA Golf Championship winner Uttam Singh Munday, are likely to participate, CGC president K Rajagopal said in the release.
The tournament offers a prize money of Rs 8.5 lakh, with the winner taking home a whopping Rs 1.37 lakh while the runner up pocketing about Rs 95,200, he said.
