NY, Nov 08: In what will likely be one of the biggest rock tours of early 2004, Linkin Park and P.O.D. are teaming up to hit arenas in North America.
A spokesperson would only confirm that the tour is happening, but Billboard.com has learned that the trek will run from January through March, with two additional as-yet-undetermined bands on the bill.
Linkin Park opened for P.O.D. a few years back, but quickly eclipsed the group in terms of sales. Linkin Park's 2001 Warner Bros. set "Hybrid Theory" has sold 8 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, while this year's "Meteora" has shifted 2.9 million.
As previously reported, on Nov. 18 Linkin Park will release the CD/DVD "Live in Texas," which will be screened in select Regal Entertainment Group theaters across the country the day before.
P.O.D. will be touring in support of its just-released Atlantic set "Payable on Death," which is expected to debut next week in the upper reaches of the Billboard 200. The group was scheduled to perform Friday night (Nov. 7) on ABC's "The Jimmy Kimmel Show."
