New Delhi, Aug 03: CBI today arrested a senior customs official in Kolkata while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs three lakh from a relative of a drug dealer. Superintendent of Customs (preventive) S K Das was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs three lakh, CBI sources said here.

He would be produced before the designated court tomorrow, they said.

The sources said that the officer had arrested one person in connection with drug dealing and had allegedly approached his brother-in-law to pay Rs 12 lakh for cancelling the case.
The money was decided to be paid in two equal installments, they said.

However, the drug dealer's relative, while reporting the matter to the CBI, informed the customs official that he could only arrange Rs three lakh.

The place of the meeting was fixed and the CBI arrested the official, they said.
Simultaneous raids were conducted at his residence and official premises, the sources said.
