Patna, Mar 04: Janata Dal(U) President and Defence Minister George Fernandes today blamed the RJD government in Bihar for the stagnation in developmental activities despite all efforts by the Centre to set it in order. Addressing a rally held in connection with the induction of more than 3,600 political activists, who resigned from the NCP and joined the JD(U), Fernandes rued that the NDA had failed to fulfil its election pledge to impose president's rule in Bihar owing to certain constitutional provisions as well as lack of majority in the Rajya Sabha. He, however, emphasised that dislodging of the RJD government and installation of a new government, committed to cooperate with the Centre in respect of development, should figure in the priority agenda of any government which would come to power at the centre.

Fernandes reminded that the country's progress could not be achieved unless prosperity of every state, including Bihar, was ensured and said Bihar would be able to come at par with other states only after an efficient government was installed in the state. Bureau Report
