Jaipur, Feb 28: Accusing the Gehlot government of failing to provide relief to drought-affected people, BJP today alleged at least 80 people have died due to starvation in the state since October last.

Participating in a debate on the governor's address in the house, BJP legislator Madan Dilawar charged the Congress government with "criminal negligence" and said, it was not providing relief to drought-hit villagers of Kota and Tonk.
Showing a list of 80 reported deaths, Dilawar said that he had written at least 125 letters to the chief minister, chief secretary, district collectors, and divisional commissioners to carry out the relief works.

Amidst noisy scenes im the assembly, congress member Lali Bhati accused the BJP and VHP of trying to disrupt communal harmony ahead of the assembly elections.
