Patna, June 30: The flood situation in Bihar today worsened with the Kosi, Bagmati, Kamala Balan and Adhwara rivers crossing the danger mark at various points along the courses.

Many villages were inundated in Supaul and Saharsa districts as the swollen Kosi partially breached the embankment at Marauna near Barhara village following heavy discharge of water from Kosi barrage due to rains, state water resource and rehabilitation department sources said.
Bagmati, Kosi and Adhwara group of rivers were constantly rising and crossed the red marks at different places along their courses.
While Kosi was flowing 66 cm above danger mark at Basua, Bagmati crossed the red mark at Benibad by 16 cm. Kamala Balan was flowing 40 cm above the danger mark at Jhanjharpur while the Adhwara group of rivers crossed danger mark at various points, the sources said.
Besides Supaul and Saharsa, many villages in Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Saran, East and West Champaran districts were also inundated in the current wave of floods, officials said here.
Round-the-clock watch was being maintained on embankments where swollen rivers were maintaining pressure and erosions taking place.
No deaths were reported from anywhere in the state due to floods, officials said.
About one lakh people have been affected in the floods in the state, they said
