SIT conducts search at Vagal`s office
Mumbai, Nov 11: As part of its ongoing probe into the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, Special Investigation Team conducted searches at the office of Joint Commissioner of Police (Intelligence) Sridhar Vagal, arrested in the case, late last night, police said here today.

A SIT team seized a large quantity of documents after thoroughly searching Vagal's office located at Maharashtra police Headquarters in Colaba, they said.
The SIT expected to recover incriminating documents from Vagal's office, following the seizure of large number of incriminating material from the arrested official's car on the day of his arrest, the sources said.
Meanwhile, SIT interrogated Vagal at its office in Pune through out the day yesterday to probe into his alleged role in providing luxurious stay to accused Telgi while in custody of Mumbai crime branch last year, sources said. The SIT is also reported to have quizzed Vagal about his professional relationship with his subordinate -- assistant police inspector Dilip Kamath.
Sources said, Vagal was questioned to find out how Kamath could take liberty of entertaining an accused with luxuries without the tacit understanding or support of his superiors and if it was disapproved, then what action against Kamath was initiated.
