Samajwadi Party on Saturday night expelled its MP from Khalilabad Bhalchandra Yadav within hours after he fired a salvo at SP General Secretary Amar Singh criticising his style of functioning and demanding his expulsion to save the party from any setback in Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.
Charging Bhalchandra Yadav for indulging in anti-party activities, the party announced his expulsion from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect. SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav accused the Khalilabad MP of being in collusion with criminals, extorting money on the pretext of assembly elections and conspiring to weaken the party by accepting crores of rupees from BJP agents, a party release said in Lucknow.
Raising a banner of revolt against Amar Singh two SP MPs - Bhalchandra Yadav and Balram Yadav - earlier in the day shot off separate letters to SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav urging him to get rid of Amar Singh in the larger interest of the party. Yadav is the second party MP to be expelled from Samajwadi Party after Lok Sabha member from Azamgarh Ramakant Yadav was shown the door recently for criticising Amar Singh.
