Chandigarh, June 15: All India anti-terrorist front chairman Maninderjit Singh Bitta today opposed the move to restart bus service to Pakistan, saying that the "intentions" of that country "cannot be trusted". "It is ironical that India should offer to restart bus service to Pakistan when Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani had termed Pakistan as 'hot-bed of terrorism'," he told reporters here.

On the possibility of New Delhi holding talks with Islamabad, he said, "If we have to talk to Pakistan on any issue then let the UN, the US and the UK be a witness to it because Pakistan with its evil intentions cannot be trusted as tomorrow it may backtrack from all its promises.”

He alleged that the ISI was running 100 training camps in Bangladesh.

On Bhindranwale being given the "martyr" status by the Akal Takht, he said all political parties must oppose the move while coming together on a single platform over the issue.
"Pakistan is closely watching and monitoring these developments in Punjab. The Union and the state governments must view it seriously and not allow Pakistan or other internal agencies to sabotage peace in Punjab," he said.

Bitta, meanwhile, demanded arrest of Khalistan protagonist Jagjit Singh Chohan and said, "He is again raising Khalistan demand at ISI's behest and is being funded by them and Khalistani cells based abroad.”

On terrorism and his party's (Congress) views on the issue, he said "my party has left me alone in my fight against terrorism, but my stand is clear even today.”
