New Delhi, Feb 02: Congress president Sonia Gandhi has plans to call separate meetings of Opposition leaders and floor leaders in Parliament to deliberate on the larger issue of opposition unity to take on BJP-led coalition in the coming Lok Sabha polls. An indication to this effect was given by party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy who told reporters here that the plans had not yet taken a final shape.

To a question whether BSP leader Mayawati would be invited to the meeting of opposition leaders, Reddy said it was yet to be finalised.

"We will also explore the possibility of convening a meeting of floor leaders of like-minded parties in Parliament," he said. Asked about the utility of floor leaders' meeting when the House was to be dissolved on February 6, Reddy said what was aimed at was having larger political cooperation outside NDA.

Taking a dig at the BJP for its much publicised 'feel good factor', Reddy remarked that it was "much abused" phrase which would recoil on those who had coined it. Bureau Report
