Bhopal, Nov 15: Ruling out apology by its leader Uma Bharti for levelling corruption charges on Madhya Pradesh Chief Miniser Digvijay Singh, BJP today accused him of trying to divert people's attention from "real issues" ahead of the assembly polls by announcing plans to file a defamation suit against her. "There is no question of Uma Bharti apologising to Digvijay Singh. It is the chief minister who should apologise to the people for non-performance of his Congress government for past ten years,” state BJP spokesman Kailash Vijayvargiya told reporters here.
He said BJP was planning to file a criminal case against Singh soon and party's lawyer Ravindra Singh was examining the matter.
"While BJP is making development its poll plank, Singh was trying to divert people's attention and tarnish Uma Bharti's image," he said.
Describing Congress manifesto for state assembly polls as "misleading", he alleged that many statistics given in the document about food grains production and power generation in the state were "wrong". Bureau Report
