New Delhi, May 08: Striking powerloom units, except those located in Surat, have resumed work after government's announcement of tax sops to the textile industries. "The powerloom units in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are now working to their full capacity," an official statement said here today. However, units in Surat were being forcibly stopped from work, but efforts were on to restart all the units, it said. The units, particularly those who wanted to resume work could do so without fear as the government would provide full protection to them, said a spokesperson of textile ministry. The government hopes that normalcy would be restored at all places in the next two-three days.
