Utah, Oct 23: Extreme bikers from around the world tested the dramatic terrain outside Zion National park in Utah.
Free-ride biking returned to the Zion National Park area in Utah, United States, as extreme pro riders challenged each other for 10,000 USD in prize money.
Cedric Gracia of France won top honours with Andrew Shandro of Canada finishing 2nd and Glyn O'Brien of Ireland was third on the red sandstone cliffs which feature steep vertical downhill and shear drops. Free ride organizers claim to be breathing new life into the sport of mountainbiking. Traditional mountain bike races take place down predeterminded courses. Like free skiing, lines in free riding are chosen only by the vision of the riders who are judged on difficulty of line selection, control, amplitude and overall style in their descent.
