Washington, Nov 06: Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has got a pledge of support for his peace efforts with Tamil rebels LTTE from President George W Bush.
In Washington, on an official visit, the Prime Minister dismissed the current crisis threatening his government as typical of the "ups and downs" of Sri Lankan politics.

Wickremesinghe said he still retains control of the country`s Parliament and is confident of weathering out the crisis when he returns to Colombo.
He is facing the biggest political battle of his career. However, the Sri Lankan Prime Minister was all smiles, facing reporters at the White House on Wednesday as he tried to downplay the crisis.

"This is not the first crisis I have had. When I go back, I`ll sort it out. We have the majority in Parliament, and we`ll get the peace process on track. I`m talking with the co-chairman of the donor countries," said Wickremesinghe.
