Samastipur, Sep 02: After being allegedly kidnapped, the assistant linguistic officer of New Delhi-based Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Amlendu Kumar Teriyar returned home in Bihar's Samastipur district yesterday, official sources said. There were conflicting reports about Teriyar. While police maintained that he had gone missing, the family members insisted that he was kidnapped and the abductors released him at Dalsingsarai from where they brought him home yesterday.

His uncle had lodged a kidnapping case with the town police station of the district on August 30.

Teriyar, also working as project officer of UNESCO in the north east region, went missing from Kasipur locality since august 29 and his family had expressed that he had been kidnapped.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Tauhid Pervez told news agencies that the police would quiz Teriyar to ascertain the facts.
