US blackout delays incoming & outgoing AI flights
Mumbai, Aug 16: The prolonged power blackout in north-eastern parts of US has delayed the departure and arrival of Air-India flights by nearly 24 hours between India and the US.
Mumbai, Aug 16: The prolonged power blackout in north-eastern parts of US has delayed the departure and arrival of Air-India flights by nearly 24 hours between India and the US.
A spokesman of Air-India said as per the revised timings,
the flight (AI 112) from New York via London-Delhi, originally
scheduled to depart on August 14, is now expected to arrive
here early tomorrow while the flight (AI 144) from Newark via
Paris is due to arrive at Mumbai at 00.25 am (Sunday).
Consequently, the departure of the Mumbai-London-New York flight (AI 101), originally due to leave here early today, would operate tomorrow morning while the PARIS-NEWARK flight (AI 145) would now depart at 2 30 am tomorrow, he said.
In view of the delayed departure of today's scheduled flights out of Mumbai, the corresponding return flights from Newark and New York would also be delayed, he said.
The spokesman further clarified that scheduled flights to New York, Newark and Chicago for tomorrow would depart from Mumbai as per the normal schedule. Bureau Report
