Thiruvananthapuram, Sept 14: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ravi Shankar Prasad today said the Centre was committed to provide all possible assistance for all-round development of the film sector in the country. "India should become the world's film destination and for that, the film sector should equip itself," he said during a brief interaction with reporters after visiting the video park promoted by the Kerala Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) at Kazhakuttam here.
He said the first decade of the 21th century would be the decade of entertainment, and institutions like KINFRA was a model and inspiration for other states to develop a park like this.
Indian films, especially Malayalam films, occupy the pride of place in the world cinema, the Minister said.
KINFRA managing director a s Suresh Babu, actor Mohanlal and 'Kalapeetom' general convener Suresh Kumar were among those present on the occasion.
Later, the minister also paid a visit to the local BJP office. Union Minister of State for Defence O Rajagopal welcomed Prasad at the office along with other senior party workers.
