Stockholm, June 17: Last year's Australian Open winner
Thomas Johansson has withdrawn from next week's Wimbledon
championships, a Swedish news agency has reported.
The 28-year-old Swede has recovered from a knee operation he had in February but will not be fit enough to play in the grasscourt event. Johansson, who has not played competitively since November, is aiming to return at the claycourt tournament on home soil in Bastad starting on July 7. Fellow Swede Magnus Norman, the 2000 French Open finalist, is also likely to miss Wimbledon because of a back injury. ''The way things feel right now, I won't be playing at Wimbledon'', Norman said yesterday.
