London: "The Theory of Everything" actor Eddie Redmayne, "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch, "12 Years a Slave" cast member Chiwetel Ejiofor, and "House of Cards" star Kevin Spacey are among people feted by Queen Elizabeth II in her annual Birthday Honours.

Redmayne who won an Oscar for his role as Stephen Hawking has been named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire or OBE.


Both Cumberbatch and Ejiofor have been named Commander of the Order of the British Empire or CBE. Spacey has been awarded an honourary knighthood for his services to culture and British theatre, reported BBC.


"I am honoured and humbled by such recognition from the Queen. I must thank the British public for being so supportive of my efforts on behalf of the Old Vic. I feel like an adopted son," Spacey said.


Also on the list are rugby player Jonny Wilkinson (CBE), Arsenal women football team Casey Stoney (MBE), long-distance runner Jo Pavey (MBE), actress Lesley Manville (OBE), singer Van Morrison (Knighthood), and footballer Frank Lampard (OBE) among others.
