New Jersey, May 30: New Jersey goalie Martin Brodeur kept a clean sheet as the Devils skated to a 3-0 victory over the underpowered Anaheim Mighty Ducks to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven Stanley Cup finals. Unbeaten this postseason (9-0) when they have scored the first goal, the Devils got Game Two off to the perfect start drawing first blood 4:42 into period on Elias's power play goal. Waiting unmarked to the side of the Ducks' net, Elias pounced on a loose puck left lying in the goalcrease when a shot by Oleg Trevdovsky's shot ricocheted off a New Jersey defenseman dropping behind helpless Anaheim netminder Jean-Sebastien Giguere. A deflection also resulted the second goal, Gomez moving into the slot and chopping Trevdovsky's slapshot from just inside the blueline past Giguere on 12.11.
Fuelled by a capacity crowd of 19,040 at the Continental Airlines Center, the Devils continued to apply the pressure in the third period, Jeff Friesen pushing the Devils in front 3-0 when his low backhand slipped past Giguere for his eighth of the playoffs after 4.22.

The series now shifts to the West coast for Games Three and Four and the Ducks looking for a little bit of the Disney magic as they attempt to become just the fourth team in 41-years to win the Cup after dropping the first two games.
