CIL has no information about CBI probe: Patel

On whether CBI had recently investigated the affairs of
CIL, Minister of State for Coal Prahlad Singh Patel said CIL
had no such information.
To another question on whether government was considering permitting development of coal mines for captive purpose, the minister replied in the affirmative.
While acknowledging that coal companies had received complaints from the MP state electricity board that the quality of coal supplied was not as per declared grade, Patel said the contents of extraneous material in coal was within the stipulated grades.
The minister said 74.1 per cent of the total coal produced was being used for power generation in the country.
