Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 27: With most UDF partners refusing to be party to his moves against Chief Minister A K Antony, senior Congress leader K Karunakaran has deferred his plan to meet governor with his 'list of 34' legislators today. Sources in Karunakaran camp, however, held that the group would go ahead with their moves and the senior leader would meet the governor at 'the appropriate time.'

"We have never set any firm date. We have only said we will meet the governor at the right time. There is no change in our plan," senior legislator P P George told reporters.

MLAs and leaders from the faction met at Karunakaran's residence here to take stock of the situation arising out of UDF partners' stand that they would not join the toppling game. Two ministers belonging to the group--Kadavur Sivadasan and P Sankaran--also attended the meeting. Kerala Congress factions led by R Balakrishna Pillai and T M Jacob had yesterday made it clear that the four MLAs they had together would not figure in the 'list of 34' that Karunakaran had claimed.

Most other allies, including the second largest partner Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), had taken the stand that it was for the Congress high command to take a decision on.
