Kochi, June 03: BJP national executive member and state president-elect P S Sreedharan Pillai today said if the state government was sincere in its peace efforts in Marad, scene of the carnage in which nine persons were killed on May 2, the inquiry should be handed over to the CBI.
Addressing a press meet here, Pillai said if the state government was sincere in appointing a cabinet sub-committee for peace efforts in Marad, it should have entrusted the probe to the CBI as a first step.

Even after a convention of all Hindu organisations recently had unanimously demanded a CBI probe into the Marad carnage, government was hesitating to order a CBI inquiry, he charged.

The state government had not taken serious note of the reports that militants arrested recently in Poonch sector had links with certain fundamentalist elements in Kerala, he alleged.

Pillai said CPI (M) and LDF convener should make their stand clear on the allegation made by P C George, MLA, about largescale corruption in the allotment of plus two schools and on the construction sector during the LDF rule, since both the factions of Kerala Congress (J) led by P J Joseph and P C Ggeorge are in the left front.
